Four Corners/Trinity had the recent opportunity to host a stop on the 2018 Freshman Legislative Tour. Fox River Estates, Phase II in Willard presented to over 50 newly elected legislators. This event offered the perfect chance to relay the importance of affordable housing across Missouri, especially in rural areas. Not only were we able to showcase the community building and amenities like the fitness center, wellness room, on-site managers office, and gathering space- we also took the legislators into the homes of two residents who got to tell their story and share their experience with affordable housing. Both Bonnie, a senior resident who had unexpected and sudden life changes and Tori, a single working mother, gave short tours of their apartments and were able to speak directly with members of Missouri government who have the chance to make legislative changes to improve the lives of thousands of struggling low-income seniors and families across Missouri.
Four Corners would like to thank Jeffrey Altmann as well as Jeff Smith with MOWHA for helping coordinate this event. Thank you to each new legislator who took time out of their day to tour Fox River Estates, Phase II.
