Highland Trails is a new construction community for seniors and the first affordable senior housing development built in west Littleton, unincorporated Jefferson County, serving the 55+ population. As a suburb of Denver, Littleton is part of the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.
The 88-unit, 4-story structure serves seniors with thoughtfully designed living spaces. The building features exterior stone and Hardie siding, elevator service, and secure single-point card access. Well-appointed common amenities are centralized on the main level and include a fitness room, computer/library room, community room with entertainment kitchen, and a wellness/services office where senior service providers offer clinics such as blood pressure screenings and nutritional consultations.
Apartments range in size from 739 to 942 sq. ft., with 9’ ceilings, and include full kitchens with Energy Star appliances, washer/dryer, ceiling fans, linen closets, step-in showers, large windows and closets, individual heating and cooling, and private patios or balconies.
Outdoor amenities include greenspace, a bocce court, and a pavilion for sheltered outdoor dining and entertaining. Residents also enjoy access to a large community garden at Waterstone Community Church.
Highland Trails is certified under the Zero Energy Ready Home (ZEHR) program and Enterprise Green Communities. Trinity Housing Development partners with local service providers and organizations—including Seniors’ Resource Center, Love INC, Denver Regional Council of Governments, HealthSet, Centura Health, Jefferson County Senior Reach, Waterstone Community Church, and Active Minds—to bring resources and services directly to residents. This collaboration ensures the project supports Jefferson County’s Consolidated Plan and Aging Well Plan, which emphasize meeting basic senior needs, housing, physical and mental health, wellness and prevention, caregiving and support services, social and civic engagement, and transportation and mobility. Seniors’ Resource Center, Love INC, and Waterstone Community Church provide no-cost or low-cost transportation services.
Highland Trails proudly stands as another successful senior housing project in Colorado.
